Hello, Author! (Or future publishing success.) Do you have books you’ve written taking up space on your hard drive instead of working for you? Then, welcome! We’re glad you’re here, because we want to see industrious writers like you keep all your work–both fiction and nonfiction–in the hands of readers. (And fans.)
We started by specializing in back list romance. Because it’s sad when a novel is no longer available to the audience that loves it.
But we decided to add frontlist titles when we realized how much we enjoy this business and the authors we work with.
So, purely out of curiosity, if you have back list (or even front list), why haven’t you self-published those books? This is a question that prompted us to start SRP in the first place, so we asked around. We got some honest and enlightening answers:
· I don’t know how to publish a book.
· The very idea is scary.
· Do I really need an editor?
· Do I need an agent?
· Can I design my own cover?
· How do I market my book?
· Should I be active on social media? What are the best platforms for authors?
And our personal favorite:
· How do I even write a book, anyway?
Do you recognize yourself in any of these responses?
Maybe you don’t have the time / patience / inclination to publish, or maybe you don’t know how, and frankly, you have no desire to learn.
(Be honest. It’s okay. We’re all friends here. We get you.)
Knowing there are loved books no longer available because they are out of contract makes us sad. So we’re here to bring those back for you, if you prefer not to do it yourself.
Our Authors are family
Our authors are family to us, and we love it when they see their own books for the first time. Whether a book is an old friend (a backlist with a new cover design and maybe even some bonus material) or a new one (a lovely new title with a gorgeous cover and glorious words spilling out.)
We understand that creating characters, writing a story, and writing about how to do something are fun. Marketing and promotion are hard. We know exactly how difficult marketing is. It’s tough for us, too. But we’re all in this together. We’d like to partner with you to promote your book and get you comfortable with social media, or whatever platform you like best to not only market and promote your book, but also to build your author brand. We can help you create a social media marketing strategy that you can feel good about, and . . . dare we say, even enjoy?
Book submissions for 2018 release
We are currently considering submissions for 2018 release. We’ll be accepting a limited number of new (never before published) titles. If you have a manuscript you’d like us to consider, contact us here.
If you hold the rights to a back list title you’d like us to take a look at, tell us about it here.
If your romance back list is contemporary, romantic suspense, Regency, inspirational, new adult, young adult, or paranormal, show it to us.
(No erotica, please. Lotsa other publishers around who can handle that for you. But thanks for thinking of us.)
If you have a nice, creative nonfiction you’d like us to look at, tell us about it here. We like books that change lives, that make a difference, that improve the world.
If you’d like to discuss working together, talk to us here.
